Global experts will address critical issues such as 'Global Warming - Are Architects Responsible?' at the 5th Annual LACCD Sustainability Conference

The Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) is proud to present the 5th Annual Sustainability Conference-tackling the theories that govern sustainable development and the economics that make it possible Global experts in the field of sustainable development discuss their visions, experiences and suggestions on how to build Green, be Diverse, Innovate, and Sustain

Following the conference, the U.S.Green Building Council - L.A.

Chapter will host a gala dinner that evening honoring four recipients with Leadership Awards.

The Awards are given annually to individuals and/or companies who have made an outstanding contribution to green building.

Topics will include the following:.

Global Warming - Are Architects Responsible?.

Designing a Sustainable Metropolis.

Climate Change - Are we Too Late?.

BACKGROUND:.

The Los Angeles Community College District is currently undertaking the largest public sector sustainable building effort in the United States, funded by its Proposition A/AA Bond Program.

The Bond Program is providing more than $2.2 billion for new construction and modernization projects for the nine Los Angeles Community Colleges.
