Lafarge Plasterboard has joined forces with Cull Dry-Lining and Plastering, to work on a prestigious new project for the Museum of Liverpool.

The Museum's GBP72 million development on the City's historic waterfront, a World Heritage Site, is currently being built using cutting edge materials and technology, including Lafarge Plasterboard's GTEC range of plasterboard systems.

The comprehensive GTEC range consists of boards, finishing products such as taping and jointing systems, fixing products such as screws and adhesives, and a complete range of metal frames to complement Lafarge's boards.

Lafarge Plasterboard is providing a total of some 40,000 square meters of drywall materials for the project, which is due for final completion in 2010.

The package provide by Lafarge includes, GTEC Universal Board, developed to achieve superior impact and fire performance; and finally GTEC Fireboard, a board developed to achieve the same ease of use as Lafarge's other systems but with enhanced fire performance properties.

Commenting on the project, Steve Williams, commercial director of Cull Dry-Lining, said: "As a Merseyside-based company, the Museum of Liverpool project was a particularly significant contract for us to win and the support and expertise we received from Lafarge Plasterboard were integral to helping us achieve this".

"The building is a striking, one-off design that incorporates numerous curved drywall bulkheads and ceiling details, many of which have been developed in conjunction with Lafarge Plasterboard and their systems-based approach helped provide a total solution to the specification".

Matt McKay, national commercial manager for Lafarge Plasterboard, added: "We were extremely pleased to work with Cull on the new Museum of Liverpool project and have been delighted with the feedback our products have received".

"There is also a significant sustainability angle to this project and by utilising our own waste plasterboard management system we have been able to contribute to this as well as ensuring that the contractors where operating under the latest waste management building regulations.
