Lafarge Plasterboard has expanded its GTEC Aqua Board range for use in wet or high humidity applications.

GTEC Aqua Board is the UK's first gypsum based board for wet and high humidity applications, and Lafarge Plasterboard has launched a new addition to the range.

Used as an alternative to cement particle boards, Aqua Board offers advantages over traditional materials.

GTEC Aqua Board can be used in all internal applications and can also be used as a sheathing board, particularly for external insulation facade systems and other external applications such as soffits and canopies.

Lafarge has now introduced a 15mm size board which delivers additional performance benefits for commercial applications, including enhanced sound, impact and fire performance.

Aqua Board is a specialist board from Lafarge's comprehensive GTEC range which includes: sound, thermal and fire boards.

GTEC Aqua Board 15mm performance criteria include: Classified as Sever Duty according to the BS5264 Part 2; Weight 13.2 kg/m2; Enhanced properties to virtually minimise water surface absorption and water uptake; High mechanical resistance; Fire resistance to EI60 standard; 60 minutes of fire resistance for a single layer partition of GTEC Aqua Board; and Improved acoustic performance.
