National building envelope specialists Lakesmere has made a number of senior management appointments following the restructure of its South and South-East regional teams.

The move will expand the remit of Regional Director Matt Nicholson, who will continue to head up the South region whilst taking over leadership of the burgeoning South-East division from Lakesmere's Managing Director Mark Davey Both of the Southern teams operate from Lakesmere's head office in Winchester

Supporting Matt in his new role will be new Construction Director Tim Rowley, who will be responsible for the design, procurement and contracts function in the South.

The management team has been further strengthened with the appointment of Steve Elms to the role of Commercial Director.

In his new capacity Steve will develop and maintain both the South and South East regions' successful commercial and surveying departments.

Despite relinquishing his role as the head of the South East team, Lakesmere's Managing Director Mark Davey will continue to play an active role in helping to facilitate further growth and success across the region.

Commenting on the new appointments, Mark said: "The restructure of the South and South- East teams is an important step in the ongoing development and growth of the region but more importantly, it recognises the talent and commitment of the individuals who have helped make Lakesmere what it is today".

"I am sure that the new management teams will prove to be a great success and that through their sustained efforts, the Southern regions will continue to go from strength the strength".

Lakesmere South- East was created in 2006 when, in keeping with Lakesmere's customer-focussed management strategy, it was felt that creating an additional team to support the South region would facilitate the provision of an improved and more targeted service.

Regional director Matt Nicholson explains; "Our key focus is always client delivery but we are very much resource driven and appreciate that by taking on too much, we ultimately diminish the quality of service we can provide".

"We'd rather have strong relationships with selected clients with the joint benefit this brings than spread ourselves too thinly".

"The secret of our success has been not to force the growth but to allow the business to grow organically".

With offices in Warrington, Glasgow and Birmingham, Lakesmere South remains the largest region of the company's five regions, producing some of Lakesmere's most prestigious and well-known projects such as Chelsea Bridge Wharf, Diamond Synchrotron and the National Assembly for Wales Building.

The South-East team has also enjoyed high-profile success recently following the completion of the new O2 Arena in London.
