Housebuilders gain sustainable windows

Key considerations in the specification of sustainable PVC windows have been revealed to housebuilders and architects in a technical seminar by three window industry specialists.
The impact of Window Energy Ratings and the Code for Sustainable Homes were amongst the issues explained by window fabricator H Jarvis, glass and glazing manufacturer Pilkington and Sheerframe window systems company L.B.Plastics The event was organised by the three companies as part of an ongoing programme to highlight the importance of selecting the right profile system, insulating glass units (IGUs), fabricator and installer to meet the ever toughening sustainability requirements of the newbuild sector

Along with Dave Glendinning, presenting at the seminar was Andy McDowell, product manager for Pilkington Building Products and head of the newbuild team at L.B.Plastics Mike Butterick.
Both Pilkington and L.B.Plastics have been at the forefront of developing energy efficient solutions for windows for decades, most recently through their innovative energiKare IGU and Sheerframe PVC profile systems respectively.
