Sheerframe windowmaker Crystal UPVC has been selected to supply windows for a GBP119 million programme of works in the North of England.

The Tameside-based company scored the highest number of qualifying points in the tender process as part of the recent Greater Manchester and North East Procurement exercise Crystal UPVC which has factories in Ashton-under-Lyne, has been making Sheerframe windows for the public sector for over 20 years

It is one of just six companies to be appointed for the four-year works programme across the two regions, organised under the Valueworks banner.

It will be the only supplier to offer the Sheerframe 7000 system featuring Thermlock thermally enhanced reinforcement as standard.

Systems company L.B.Plastics worked closely with the Crystal team during the tender process, and have praised Crystal for their commitment.

Says L.B.'s Sheerframe director, David Strang, "For Crystal to come out top in a fiercely competitive process is testimony to their strength in-depth and extensive experience in the social housing refurbishment sector".

"This is one of the biggest social housing refurb contracts to be awarded this year and Crystal's win demonstrates the effectiveness of the tendering partnership between systems company and market-focused fabricator.".
