Letchworth Roofing Company, working for main contractor Galliford Try, used the latest roofing techniques to complement the modern look of this dynamic building.

The Westminster Academy, with its dramatic colouring and location - right beside the Westway flyover - is already making its mark on the London landscape The GBP30 million new secondary school for over 1,100 students incorporates a range of cutting edge design aspects

The extensive terracing on four of the floors is a key feature of the building, and here an inverted roof with paving was laid on a Permaquik high performance hot rubber waterproof membrane.

Upstand feature flashings were used on the surrounds of all the terraces.

The main roof of the building features a green roof from the Greenroof Company, also laid on a Permaquik high performance hot rubber waterproof membrane.

The living sedum green roof areas help to manage water run-off, insulate the buildings in all seasons and promote biodiversity.

The GBP340,000 project was completed on time and to the client's satisfaction, a further endorsement of the quality of Letchworth Roofing's nationwide experience gained over the last 35 years.
