ABB Building Systems Electrify The 2004 Boat Show
ABB Building Systems has been appointed by Sir Robert McAlpine to carry out the electrical modification programme for The London International Boat Show.
The headmaster had previously ordered the closure of the school's kitchen because it failed to comply with ventilation regulations including BS6173: Specification for Installation of Gas-fired Catering Appliances.
This specifies that equipment should have flame supervision devices and appropriate gas controls, as well as a single manual means of isolation for servicing or cleaning.
Installation of the Ledaire equipment will ensure that the kitchen meets current guidelines and regulations.
Ledaire's comprehensive range of hoods comes in extract-only and supply and extract versions with optional lights and fire suppression systems.
The hoods can feature individually adjustable supply air nozzles to provide cooling to hot working areas.
Ledaire also offers energy saving induction hoods, which reduce the amount of heated air produced in a kitchen being wasted by conventional exhaust hoods.
Fresh air is discharged into the hood at high velocity, creating a low pressure area over the cooking vapours and fumes.
It is then exhausted through the hood via filters.
An optional feature of these hoods is the control of induced air to provide summer ventilation.
The Ledaire equipment for St Joseph's School was installed by East London-based J Scott and Sons.
