Judges announced for Leaf Awards
Panel of distinguished judges for this year's Emirates Glass LEAF Awards has been announced.
Judges for this year's Emirates Glass LEAF Awards, to be held at the Dorchester Hotel in London, on 23 October 2008, will include Albert Williamson Taylor, co founder and director of Adams Kara Taylor, a leading consulting structural civil engineers, Stephen Andrews, project design executive, Canary Wharf Plc, Jonathan Glancey, architectural critic for The Guardian and will be chaired by Peter Murray, Chairman of Wordsearch and founding director of the London Architecture Biennale.
Announcing the prestigious line up of judges Simona Kastly, Emirates Glass LEAF Awards project manager said, "Once again we have an outstanding line-up of judges".
"This year's panel represents a cross section of leading figures within the architectural, design and construction fields, bringing invaluable industry knowledge to the table for the shortlist process.
Peter Murray, chairman of the panel of judges, commented: "The Emirates Glass LEAF Awards are now firmly established as one of the most coveted after awards in the global architectural calendar, recognising leading talent in the architectural, design and construction fields on a global scale".
Now in their fifth year, the Emirates Glass LEAF Awards have rapidly become the most prestigious worldwide architectural prizes, recognising excellence in architectural design and build.
The Emirates Glass LEAF Awards 2008 are already attracting hundreds of entries from leading architects worldwide.
The Emirates Glass LEAF Awards 2008 have eight categories covering aspects of building design.
- BEST STRUCTURAL DESIGN OF THE YEAR.
- BEST SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT sponsored by German Timber Promotion Fund.
- COMMERCIAL BUILDING OF THE YEAR sponsored by Bauporte Design Entrances.
- INTERNATIONAL INTERIOR DESIGN OF THE YEAR.
- MIXED USE BUILDING OF THE YEAR.
- NEW INNOVATION OF THE YEAR.
- RESIDENTIAL BUILDING OF THE YEAR.
- YOUNG ARCHITECT OF THE YEAR.
- THE GRAND PRIX WINNER.
Entry is open to all architects and building entries throughout the world and will be announced at a spectacular Awards dinner at the Dorchester Hotel, London.
