Lifting Solutions of Barnsley is adding to its growing industry reputation by strengthening its customer offering to include stainless steel wire swaged products.

Lifting solutions has invested in new dies that now enable the company to design and fabricate a wide range of swaged products for an array of applications to meet the growing demand from architects and interior designers, for example The upsurge in demand for swaged products is primarily design-led, where a new marina, corporate head office, cafe bar, leisure attraction or other facility requires a striking design element

The resurgent attraction of metals from both an interior and exterior design point of view and the versatile functionality and flexibility of steel wire rope are making swaged products a natural choice on many new developments around the globe.

Typical examples of where swaged products are used would be on balustrades, stairwells, connecting walkways and as architectural cable supports for covered public areas - such as covered areas around retail and leisure parks.

Jonathan Moorhouse, managing director of Lifting Solutions, said: "We can now produce almost any swaged stainless steel wire product for almost any application.

The flexibility of the product application means you sometimes get enquiries for the unusual; whilst most swaged applications are purchased from an architectural design perspective, we were also recently asked to design, fabricate and fit a swaged steel wire product that would restrain rail wagons and prevent accident and damage.

So there can be real health and safety as well.".
