Building specialist Linford Group has started work on the construction of a new building for Tamworth and Lichfield College's School of Art.

A major milestone has been passed in the restoration and re-use of St Peter's in Ancoats, Manchester.
The building also has a number of original features including a carved oak entrance porch with matching stained glass screens, an oak feature staircase, as well as original timber skirting boards and panels.
"The key concept for the project was always to maintain as many of the original features as possible" said Richard Smith of EC Harris who have been appointed to administer the contract.
"The appointment of the Linford Group for this work is key to the success of the scheme due to their established track record for this type of work".
Robert Pearson, managing director at Linford Group said: "We are very excited to have laid the foundations to the development at Oaklands Court as it marks the start of a new phase in the project.
"This project will see two new buildings erected within the grounds, it also requires some specialist restoration skills to ensure the character of the original building is not lost".
Linford's restoration craftsmen will be working closely with its new-build team to ensure the original features are retained and returned to their former glory.
Sid Muir, Head Of Corporate Business, Allied Irish Bank (GB) said 'We are delighted to be supporting Oaklands Developments with this exciting development where the partnership between the bank, the client, the developer and the project monitor is working in harmony'.
The development is currently being marketed by Worcester-based Knight Frank and is due to be completed by summer 2006.
