Liquid Plastics has recently provided the Yorkshire Bank Headquarters in Leeds with a Cold Fusion Bonded Built-Up Roofing System, applied by McConnell Seamless Roofing The original waterproofing consisted of an inverted build-up with a single ply membrane that had become brittle and was allowing water ingress

The 3,000m2 roof also had a number of planters and detail work to accommodate and so a root resistant, liquid applied Decothane membrane was specified.

The existing system was stripped back to the concrete beam and block deck and a laid to falls, warm roof construction was installed consisting of a vapour control layer, Decotherm insulation, a carrier membrane and the seamless Decothane waterproofing 'cap sheet'.

The whole system was fully adhered using Liquid Plastics' cold fusion adhesive - Decostik.

In addition the GRP facades surrounding each roof level were coated with Monolastex Smooth, which is a tough, durable, weatherproof coating for external walls.

The new roof is guaranteed to last for at least 20 years and is now completely watertight and resistant to penetration by roots.

Furthermore the completely cold application eliminated the need for any dangerous hot works on the roof.
