Contractors bank on Decothane
Liquid Plastics has recently provided the Yorkshire Bank Headquarters in Leeds with a Cold Fusion Bonded Built-Up Roofing System, applied by McConnell Seamless Roofing.
Part of the scheme was to give the dull 4,000 metre square rendered walls a much needed facelift because they were looking tired and old fashioned.
The new wall coating, however, needed to provide more than just good looks for the 1970s building.
It had to be durable and hardwearing, offering years of maintenance-free service.

Liquid Plastics launch new website
Following the recent expansion into the inverted roof, balcony and car park markets, Liquid Plastics has also launched a re-designed website.
It also needed to be a high build product, capable of covering the thick layer of sharp Canterbury Spa red aggregate.
Liquid Plastics' Decadex, a waterborne exterior wall coating, which is seven times stronger than traditional paint, was used in two contrasting shades of grey to completely change the external look of the building and brighten the whole appearance of Fairfax House.
Chosen because of its proven, strong track record and high build formulation, Decadex forms a resistant, matt and highly durable elastomeric finish which tolerates substrate movement.
The high-tech system is designed to provide the maximum decorative protection in the most aggressive conditions for at least 10 years.
However, there are many cases throughout the world where Decadex has been proven to last for more than 20 years, even in the most challenging environments.
Decadex has many advantages as an exterior wall coating because it provides excellent protection against the affects of carbonation in reinforced concrete.
It also retains a bright, clean, attractive appearance throughout its design life and will not embrittle with age or exposure to UV light.
The product even contains an active fungistatic system, which prevents the growth of mould, fungus and algae on its surface.
Jim Kennedy, director at Surface Protection - a Liquid Plastics' Quality Assured (QA) approved contractor, said: "Decadex was the perfect solution for the challenges of this project".
"It is a high build, decorative product that is also exceptionally durable and self-cleaning".
"This means that maintenance will be kept to a minimum on Fairfax House for at least 10 years".
"The building looks absolutely stunning now and the facade is a vast improvement on how it looked before".
"It is testimony to the capabilities of Decadex and the client is delighted with the end result.".
