Liquid Plastics, pioneer of liquid roof waterproofing technology, has supplied a Decothane Omega 15 waterproofing system for the Dominion Theatre in London's West End.

Situated on Tottenham Court Road, the Dominion Theatre has been home to the hit stage musical 'We Will Rock You' since 2002 The existing waterproof system on the roof had failed and recently massive leaks were allowing water to enter the building - this was so severe that the stage show was almost cancelled on several occasions

Project managers, Triton Restoration, required a new waterproofing system that could be quickly and safely installed with minimum disruption to everyday theatre business.

"When we first saw the roof it was in a very poor state, with a number of failed areas and a good deal of detail work that required re-waterproofing," comments Terry Wain, Liquid Plastics' Technical Field Services Manager.

"However we were confident that Decothane was more than capable to handle the job, and because it is cold applied we knew that 'the show would go on' with minimum disruption from the roof works".

Decothane is an elastomeric waterproof membrane, cold applied in liquid form.

It is an incredibly versatile product and can easily accommodate detail areas.

Systems are available with15, 20 or 25 year guarantees but in this instance a 15 year system was installed.

And because the work was completed by one of Liquid Plastics' Quality Assured Contractors - Millane .

- a single point guarantee was issued covering both materials and labour.

David Millane from Millane .

adds; "This was certainly a high profile project, and the waterproof finish provided by Decothane would have been difficult to achieve using traditional materials".

"With Decothane we not only produced a completely seamless membrane but it's also guaranteed to last for at least 15 years.".
