First 'A' energy installation for Listers?
Lister Trade Frames of Stoke on Trent are the first company to have an 'A' rated product installed into a domestic property by one of their customers.
The day at Alton Towers, plus a celebratory dinner in the evening, was arranged as a thank you gift to all their hard working staff.
Despite the occasional shower during the day everyone was treated to some of the country's scariest rides, and in the evening (before dinner) Listers hired the park's 'Spinball Whizzer' just for their own use.
And a great day was had by all! Rod says that Listers' success is all about three things "Great products, the right people to move the company forward and innovation, never ever being satisfied." Listers have never aimed to be 'the cheapest'.
Quality is at the forefront of what they do.
The company is now managed by five directors, each with a specialist knowledge within their responsibility.
The staff are actively encouraged to share their thoughts and ideas on the company's development.
And with this year seeing Listers introducing Arched frames, Composite doors, TSL locking and most recently Energy Rated Frames as their standard product, you can see that innovation is still a core value for the company.
"It hasn't always been easy" says Rod "We have had our fair share of difficulties over the years, and we don't always get it right".
"But we are blessed with a loyal workforce and loyal customers who value quality over price alone".
"What we do has stood us in good stead over the last 30 years, and with the current difficulties in the market our success is coming from working even harder".
Lister Trade Frames are one of the finalists for the G-06 Awards this year under the Training and Development category.
This underlines that success in today's industry very much depends on investment.
Investment in people, in infrastructure and product development.
Without being dedicated to moving your business forward you can't hope for success in today's market.
Listers are one of a very small number of window, door and conservatory manufacturers who can claim 30 years in this business under one owner.
Their strategy for quality, service and constant improvement has certainly paid off for them and gives us all hope for improved business now and a better business future.
