Ultrasonic Leak Detector For Building
Services

The detector, which quickly repays its initial cost outlay and save's all types of companies substantial energy costs and improves their overall efficiency.

The EP 542 Ultrasonic Leak detector is now the Top Selling ultrasonic detector set from Logis-Tech Associates The detector, which quickly repays its initial cost outlay and save's all types of companies substantial energy costs and improves their overall efficiency

Throughout all buildings.plants, etc, wasted energy in compressed air is quite common.

However compressed air (and other gases) are at the same time a very large cost to the plant/company's budget each year.

It is therefore sensible to continuously inspect the air, vacuum or gas installations on a frequent basis.

Portable fault locating ultrasonic detectors are ideally suited, especially in noisy environments, to be used in energy conservation, predictive maintenance and proactive maintenance programmes for leak detection and electronic/mechanical inspection.

The advantages of the EP 542 Ultrasonic leak detector are: * Portable and hand held * quick and reliable * safe and convenient * testing of bearings, gears, etc * testing of boxes, tanks, pipes, etc * ideally suited in noisy environments * energy conservation, * predictive and proactive maintenance programmes EP542 The equipment is delivered in a suitcase and consists of: 1 - EP542 Detecting device with higher sensitivity than EP300 series.

1 - EP911 Headphone 1 - EP931 Directional probe 2 - Stethoscope sensors (EP941-short and EP942-long) 1 - Operating instruction EP542 is used to find leaks (e.g in compressed air installations, vacuum installations, in tanks, etc) as well as to find mechanical malfunctions on movable parts (e.g ball bearings.

Gears, etc,.).

As ultrasonic equipment EP542 works by "listening" in a frequency band normally containing no interference and non-audible for humans (>20 kHz).

Leaking compressed air or electrical flashover (sparks) generates e.g ultrasonic.

Audible noises from the surrounding areas are filtered off so that the device can easily be used in this type of environment, i.e noise filled areas.

If a leak is found a "buzz" can be heard in the headphone.

The sound level depends on the size of the leak.

If looking for a very "small" leak close by, the directional probe can be applied to the sensor at the top of the instrument and optimum listening-sensitivity is achieved.

It is imperative to make sure and seal all the leaks found at the examination - as leakage causes a loss in efficiency and costs a lot of money! As a "mechanical malfunction feeler" the EP542 picks up interference from movable parts through a stethoscope.

The stethoscope only "listens" to low-frequency mechanical vibrations so the stethoscope can also be used in noisy areas.

If requiring a detector with an extremely high listening sensitivity Logis-Tech recommends the EP 2000 detector, which is 10 times more sensitive than the EP542.

It is used for more specialised applications.

Noise filled areas: If the noise level exceeds 80 dB we recommend using an authorised and CE approved EP921 hearing protector. Request a free brochure from Logis-Tech Associates ...

Scopes of application: All types of industrial plants and factories, building maintenance, laboratories, hospitals, etc.
