The EP641 Ultrasonic Leak Detector

A Logis Tech Associates product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Apr 29, 2004

Logis-Tech Associates announce a Special offer on the EP641 ultrasonic leak detection kit.

It is a basic leak checker detector at a very good price.

The EP641 ultrasonic leak detector makes use of a new developed digital technology, where the ultrasound (20 - 100 kHz) produced by e.g a compressed air leak, transforms into a digital signal which the user sees and hears.

The EP641 responds by a flashing light and a pulsating sound.

The faster the light flashes/the sound pulsates the closer you are to the leakage, and the speed of the light flashing/sound pulsating is also an expression of the size of the leakage (The faster the light flashing/sound pulsating - the bigger the leak).

The EP641 can also be used with the EP512 ultrasonic transmitter that transmits pulsating ultrasonic.

The transmitter is placed inside the item, e.g a steel tank, that is then closed.

The user can then examine the tank from the outside and can easily find leaks, if any, as a flashing light and a pulsating sound from the EP641.

Directional Probe(s): In case of massive ultrasonic sounds in the surroundings, the 1-3 directional probes (3 x 19cm) can be applied to the sensor at the top of the instrument and optimum listening-sensitivity is achieved - this is also for separation of close-set leakages - and for leak detection at a distance.

Noise filled areas: If the sound level exceeds 80 dB we recommend putting on an authorized and CE approved hearing protector before entering the area to be examined.

The end user can in this situation read the flashing light, if the noise in the surroundings drowns the pulsating sound from the detector.

Scopes of application: Industrial plants, workshops, laboratories, hospitals, cars, train carriages, etc.

Accessory equipment: EP 641can be used in combination with the EP 512 - ultrasonic transmitter.
