Logis-Tech Associates are now supporting a MSc in building services programme, which is being delivered at a Scottish University.

Logis-Tech Associates are now supporting a MSc in building services programme, which is being delivered at a Scottish University Building Services is a broad-based discipline involving the design, installation and maintenance of all the systems and equipment required to provide us with a safe and comfortable built environment

The MSc in Building Services Engineering is a programme that requires some attendance but quite a few of the 8 modules required can be done by distance learning.

The MSc in Building Services programme consists of: 4 core modules; Advanced Fluid Mechanics and Heat Transfer, Dynamics Systems Design 2, Advanced electrical power Systems and the Project (double module).

A further two modules out of the three from the Energy / Environment section; Energy Technology 2, Resources and Sustainability and/or Environmental Planning and Impact Assessment.

Finally two modules out of the three from the Management section; Project Management, Strategic facilities management and /or Management - Plant Installation and Commissioning Project.

Eight modules in total is required for the MSc in Building Services.

The next in-take is September 2006 and numbers are limited.

The minimum entrance qualifications is a honours degree (minimum lower second class - 2/2) in a related field.

With building projects worldwide and a greater awareness of global environmental issues, the role and contribution of the Building Services Engineer is assured.

Employment in the building services industry covers a wide spectrum of activities throughout the design to operation stages of a range of building types from domestic, commercial, industrial and leisure.
