New apartments to be released at Maine Road

Apartments will shortly be released at The Maine Place, a major new regeneration development from Lowry Homes, occupying the site of Manchester City FC's former Maine Road stadium.

The development's first two phases have enjoyed buoyant local sales success and although more 3 and 4 bedroom homes will be available in future, just two properties from the original releases are still available, both Summerbee 3 bedroom houses priced at GBP162,950.

Construction has already started on the new homes, which feature dramatic styling combined with advanced specifications and are designed to set new standards for energy efficiency, thanks to their excellent "green" credentials.

Existing residents in Moss Side and parts of Rusholme will again be given the first opportunity to purchase properties in the latest phase.

Speaking of the development's progress Becky Leighton, Lowry Homes' Sales and Marketing Director said: "We'll be digging the foundations for our exciting range of apartments in the next month or so".

"These distinctive new properties will give first time buyers a welcome opportunity to become home owners, probably far sooner than they thought possible".

"Like the first release of houses in phases 1 and 2 we'll be prioritising local buyers at the outset and offering assisted purchase schemes through English Partnerships".

Once complete The Maine Place will comprise 440 new homes, ranging in size from one bedroom apartments to four bedroom properties, plus improved community facilities, including a new school which will merge St.

Edward's RC School with Bishop Bilsborrow RC Primary.

It is also hoped to provide a new health centre.

Manchester City Council, which has worked closely with Lowry Homes to maximise the local benefits of the development, sees The Maine Place as an important catalyst to the regeneration of Moss Side and Rusholme.
