Training - the route to skills and
competence
Competence via training is the ethos of the Lowe Group, who provide a range of specialist electrical and safety training courses
It is the responsibility of appointed duty holders within companies to ensure that their workers are fully competent to undertake any tasks they are allocated involving electrical or mechanical equipment and installations Where any contractors are involved in site work, they also should provide evidence of their workforce competence and registration with appropriate organised bodies such as the 'national inspection council' or the 'electrical contractors association'

The legislative electrical training courses available through the Lowe Group are equally diverse and include City and Guilds qualifications 2377-002, 2381, 2391 and 2400.
Refresher courses on current regulations include: Electricity at Work regulations 1989; 16th Edition Wiring regulations BS7671; Emergency Lighting BS5266; Electrical Machine Safety PUWER2 together with a 'Duty Holders' regulations update.
Other courses include tutorials on Electrical Testing, Earthing and Bonding, Risk Assessment etc Training is delivered in short course format or for some subjects through evening study at any of the Lowe Group's training centres.
Company specific training can even be delivered on site if required offering greater flexibility for busy organisations.
With the new City and Guilds and EAL on-line assessment facility for multiple choice examinations, available "24/7" and providing instant pass or fail feedback, this adds up to a realistic 21st century approach to electrical training in the UK.
