NECTA, provides clients with access to technical advice, consultancy services, electrical inspection and testing programmes, training courses, risk assessments and much more.

'What's in a name,' one of history's great writers once stated In the case of NECTA it is much more than meets the eye, because this name has all the support of the country's leading provider of electrical safety and electrical training programmes behind it

The companies in question are T J Lowe (Maintenance) and T J Lowe and Associates , now collectively known as NECTA (National Electrical Certification and Training Alliance).

Both companies, operating under the banner of the Lowe Group, have many years' experience in electrical inspection and testing as well as electrical training.

Indeed, working either individually or collectively, the two companies have acquired an enviable reputation in their respective fields.

In the course of providing these services, however, it became clear that industry in particular needed an organisation to help them set a benchmark for electrical safety.

The Lowe Group were uniquely equipped for the task, and already effectively setting the standard for electrical safety in the workplace on a national level.

Hence the creation of NECTA, dedicated to providing clients with access to technical advice, consultancy services, comprehensive electrical inspection and testing programmes, a host of electrical training courses, risk assessments, development of safety policies and much more, therefore reinforcing its policy of safe systems, safe places and safe people.

Statistics show that fires, resulting from faulty electrical installations or equipment, are the second highest causal factor (after arson) of property damage.

Combined with electrically related accidents, this has resulted in increasing pressure from the HSE and insurance companies to enforce legal compliance to EAWR, thereby reducing the risk of electrically related incidents.

NECTA has now assumed the mantle of responsibility for advising and supporting various industrial and commercial sectors by providing guidance and assistance to ensure compliance with current regulations and also to act as an intermediary between the HSE, their members and insurance companies to help stem the inexorable rising cost of renewal premiums.

To this end, NECTA are also working towards the establishment of a recognised electrical safety certification that will be accepted for insurance validation and risk limitation.

Meeting the need nationally is a considerable task, but one that NECTA feels it is well qualified to undertake.

The new company has inherited the position of the country's leading electrical safety service provider.

It also has the backing of a number of recognised trade bodies and is supported by several blue chip organisations.

The Lowe Group already operates a policy of establishing strong working relationships with its many clients, a philosophy that NECTA will continue to maintain and expand upon as the company grows and develops.

Indeed, existing clients of either T J Lowe (Maintenance) Limited or T J Lowe and Associates Limited can look forward to continuing to receive the same level of support that they have always enjoyed.

New clients will in turn find the service that NECTA provides, quite literally, second to none.

Clients committing themselves to achieving a recognised level of electrical safety by using NECTA services will be offered membership status of the organisation.

As such they will be able to draw on the expertise of NECTA's technical staff, receive regular updates on legislative issues and enjoy priority access to all services including discounted training courses.
