A Luxalon curved ceiling has provided a stylish and practical solution for a major new call centre.

A Luxalon curved ceiling has provided a stylish and practical solution for a major new call centre Designed by architects, Dyer Brown and Associates UK, the 3000 sq m ceiling comprises 300C aluminium wide panels in white on a curved carrier placed between laminated wood beams

It was completed in December 2004, and installed by Stortford Interiors The architects chose the system because it offered the best combination of high sound absorbency and high light reflectance.

As the panels are made to measure in lengths up to 6000mm they minimise panel joints - helping to achieve a smooth, closed surface in keeping with the design brief.

The longer panels also allow faster installation.

In a call centre environment, sound control is essential.

To improve the ceiling's acoustic performance, the perforated panels incorporate a non-woven tissue bonded to the reverse face together with and inlaid acoustic mineral wool pad enclosed in black polythene.

The Luxalon curved ceiling concept is based on a standard product that provides an extremely cost-effective curved metal ceiling solution.

The systems enable designers to create concave, convex and undulating ceilings providing superb visual affects.

If required, individual panels can be removed easily, allowing access to services in the plenum.

Luxalon ceilings are available in a choice of standard colours and finishes, however, other RAL colours could be available subject to cost and time limitations.
