LYTAG lightweight aggregate is a secondary material from the by-product of coal-fired power stations.

Used in a range of construction applications including structural and precast concrete, floor and roof screeds, fills, green roofs, and as a drainage medium, its weight is approximately 50 per cent that of natural aggregate.

Using the product reduces demand on quarried aggregate and also diverts waste material from landfill.

Lytag is a brand that has been on the market for more than 40 years.

In that time it has proven itself for use in structural concrete, floor and roof screed, precast concrete, land drainage and geotechnical fill.

It offers its users many performance benefits: 50 per cent lighter than natural aggregates; 25 per cent lighter than natural aggregate concrete, which allows designers to be more flexible in design and achieve greater floor and roof spans; Concrete has same structural strength; Enhanced durability; Easier placing, compacting and finishing; Improved insulating properties; Logistical benefits.
