Masterblock raises the bar in construction with its commitment to guarantee that all its Masterlite lightweight aggregate blocks have a minimum recycled material content of 20 percent.

The Company's Masterlite range, which has always had one of the highest levels of recycled content of any lightweight aggregate block on the market, now has a minimum 20 percent recycled materials, rising to 50% or more in some production areas Jeremy Lee, Commercial Manager at Masterblock, explains, "Masterblock has consistently strived to be market leaders in sustainable construction"

"In 2008 our mission is to further increase recycled content across the product range and communicate this to our customers." In many production areas the recycled content of the blocks can be much higher depending on local availability factors, such as having other Aggregate Industries businesses, like a hard landscaping factory, close by.

The basic minimum is 20%, but based on 2007 figures, can be over 50% or more depending on the production area.

Masterblock's manufacturing sites are spread across the United Kingdom, from Melbur in Cornwall to Kemnay in Scotland, giving the construction industry a wide choice of sites from which to chose.

The Masterlite range is available in solid format with standard strengths of 3.6 N/mm2 and 7.3 N/mm2.

Higher strength blocks of 10.4 N/mm2 can be manufactured to order.

The face work size is 440mm x 215mm and available in 100mm, 140mm and 190mm widths.

For a much higher guaranteed content Masterblock's Enviroblock range has a guaranteed recycled content of over 90%.

Masterblock is a member of both the British Precast Concrete Federation and the Concrete Block Association.

All Masterblock products are manufactured under the quality procedures of BS EN ISO 9001 2000.
