Sash Masterframe Windows has upped the ante for PVC-U sliding sash fabricators with the new standard specification for the Bygone Collection window.
The Window Energy Rating system is the same as that currently used on white goods such as fridges and dishwashers.
Masterframe was the first company to produce a 'C' energy rated window in the UK last June, confirmed by the glazing regulatory body, the British Fenestration Ratings Council.
This achievement won the Essex-based company the glazing industry's G05 Energy Efficiency of the Year Award 2005, and only a handful of windows have since been rated.
Masterframe's customers can also use the 'Energy Saving Recommended' swing tag logo, which is produced by the Energy Savings Trust.
"But there's no compromise on design," explains Alan Burgess, Masterframe's Managing Director.
"We specialise in the design and manufacture of high quality, authentic-looking PVC-U sliding sashes".
"Georgian bars, deep bottom rails, brass hardware and a woodgrain foil finish make Masterframe's windows virtually indistinguishable from original timber sashes, and increasingly accepted by planners and conservation officers".
"Now our windows help save energy and cut carbon emissions too.".
