Masterframe Windows helped convince a conservation officer that its Vintage range sashes were perfect for a major new build property in Prestwich.

Conservation officer convinced by Masterframe's sashes Specialist sliding sash manufacturer Masterframe Windows helped convince a conservation officer that its Vintage range sashes were perfect for a £1.5 million new build property in Prestwich.

"Using PVC-U windows in the St Mary's conservation area was our biggest challenge," says Ian Watson, Director of private housebuilder Godliman and Watson .

"We had many meetings with the conservation officer, Mick Nightingale, who was much against PVC-U initially".

"Although he said the windows 'had to be timber', he was impressed with the sample sash Masterframe provided".

"Richard Howe, Masterframe's Technical Sales Representative, helped persuade Mick that the windows were sympathetic to architecture of the surrounding area." The Victorian-style four storey home includes a swimming pool as well as a spectacular arched sash.

The 24 sliding sashes from Masterframe's range have traditional features such as continuous moulded horns, and a total installed value of £22,000".

"We saw Masterframe at Interbuild two years ago and again in April," continues Ian".

"It's an excellent product".

"The PVC-U sashes have many benefits over timber - not only do they offer better insulation and security, they're low maintenance and easier to open".

"The homeowner was over the moon.".
