Manchester Business School announce winners of two scholarships from CIOB and RICS to join their popular MBA for Construction Executives.

Manchester Business School (MBS) has announced the winners of two scholarships from CIOB and RICS to join their popular MBA for Construction Executives this month CIOB (Chartered Institute of Building) and RICS (the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors), in partnership with Manchester Business School, are both offering a 50 per cent scholarship to a chartered member for the MBA

Toby White of McBains Cooper is the winner of the RICS MBA for Construction Executives Scholarship, with Shane Forte of Sivukile Contractors winning the CIOB MBA for Construction Executives Scholarship.

The scholarships, both worth over GBP7,000, were awarded by MBS after a competition in which applicants were required to submit a presentation based on a case study.

White, 31, is based in London.

He works in the Asset Management team of McBains Cooper as a Senior Surveyor: "Studying for this MBA gives me the opportunity to enhance my knowledge in an area of great interest to me, and increase the benefit of my contribution to both my employer and my chosen industry," says White.

Forte, 40, is Commercial Director with Sivukile Contractors based in South Africa.

"I intend to introduce what I learn into our business to promote best practice in South Africa," says Forte.

"The scholarship has assisted in providing me an opportunity to enrol on a programme that I may never have been in a position to access on my own".

MBS academics and representatives of the CIOB and RICS Practice Department assessed the competition entries.

Announcing the winners, Professor Graham Winch, Programme Director, Manchester Business School said: "The standard of entries was very high but it was a unanimous decision that the awards should go to White and Forte".
