Mapei's Ultrabond P990 1K is celebrating continued success, following its 'Product of the Year' award earlier this year.

Mapei's Ultrabond P990 1K is celebrating continued success, following its 'Product of the Year' award earlier this year through a readers poll Ultrabond P990 1K was launched to the UK market in January 2004 in 15kg tubs, and is a simple, ready-to-use, solvent-free, one-component adhesive that is elastic, specifically designed for the installation of all types of flooring over cementitious screeds, traditional timber substrates, chipboard panels, masonite panels and underfloor heating

Ultrabond P990 1K is: easy to apply - thanks to its viscosity properties, the product is fluid and smooth, even at low temperatures, and can even guarantee and excellent hold on vertical surfaces; convenient - thanks to its excellent trowelability, consumption of the adhesive is 20-30% less than traditional 2-component adhesives for wood; low wastage - thanks to its new aluminium moisture-proof packaging, partially used product can be stored to avoid waste; good elasticity - thanks to its elasticity properties it mirrors the natural movements of wood caused by temperature and moisture variations; good bonding - P990 1K has perfect adhesion to all types of substrates without the need of a primer; low hazard - thanks to its chemical nature and total absence of solvents it is safer, less irritant and less pollutant than traditional 2-component wood adhesives.

Adhesive is inside an aluminium bag which acts as a guaranteed moisture barrier, and can be rolled over the sides of the bucket so that the adhesive can simply be poured directly on to the substrate, and can also then be re-sealed with airtight closure and ready for the next application.

This packaging is also environmentally friendly and easy to dispose of.

Ultrabond P990 1K is also now available in a 600cc 'sausage', with application guns and trowels also available.
