Movement joints were sealed with Mapesil AC silicone sealant.
Ultracolor has been succeeded by Ultracolor PLUS has all the benefits of fast setting, anti-efflorescence and colour uniformity for 2-20mm joints, with the added advantages of BioBlock and DropEffect .
BioBlock consists of special organic molecules which are distributed uniformly through the micro-structure of the tie joint, to block the formation of micro-organisms at the root, which are responsible for the onset of mould.
DropEffect reduces the absorption of surface water, therefore reducing the formation of efflorescence and mould, ensuring a continued uniformity of colour.
Ultracolor Plus is available in an original range of exciting shades, with matching silicone sealant and epoxy grouts for hygienic areas also available.
Mapei's Keracolor FF high performance grout was also used to grout Domus mosaics, both 20x20mm Venetian glass and modern 50x50mm coloured back, 400x400mm Burlington slate and 600x300mm Bibliotheque porcelain tiles.
This product was most suitable for use as its technical characteristics result in a smooth final surface with low water absorption.
