On February 12th 2007, Mapei and the founding Squinzi family celebrate 70 years in business, commemorating continuous growth, internationalisation, technological excellence, environmental care and superior customer support In 1937 on the outskirts of Milan, Rodolfo Squinzi founded Mapei "Material Ausiliari Per l'Edilizia e I'industria" `("Auxiliary Materials for Building and Industry")

The Mapei group proudly dedicate 5% of annual turnover and 12% of their workforce to research, always keeping ahead of technology and ready for future developments.
Pioneers of environmental concern, Mapei have spent considerable time and research developing solvent-free products and adhesives in water-dispersion to lessen their impact on the environment and the product user and in 1992 became a member of 'Responsible Care' - the international chemical industry's programme for sustainable development.
Mapei's quality system was awarded ISO 9001 certification in 1995, this has also been awarded to many Mapei subsidiaries.
Mapei is now well known globally with 46 plants worldwide, from the Americas to the Far East, from Europe to Australia, from the Middle East to Africa, the third generation of the Squinzi family are now also on board to continue driving the organisation further forward.
Mapei UK is Mapei's 42nd manufacturing plant and in the Mapei tradition continues to experience continuous growth and success thanks to the fastidious support from their parent company.
