Ultra Eco bonding from Mapei adhesive range

Mapei has expanded its environmentally friendly Ultrabond Eco range with the addition of three new formulations.

Ultrabond Eco is a range of ready-mixed adhesives in water dispersion, and is solvent-free with extremely low VOC emissions.

It is suitable for fixing a wide range of textile floor coverings and vinyl or PVC floor tiles.

Now with six products in the range, there is an Ultrabond Eco product for all types of resilient and textile flooring.

The extended product range now includes Ultrabond Eco, a heavy duty adhesive with a strong initial bond and extended open time of 70 minutes for bonding PVC or vinyl sheets or tiles on to all kinds of internal, absorbent and moisture stable substrates.

The product is suitable for intense traffic areas and wheelchair use.

The solvent free non-flammable synthetic polymer-based adhesive is also for use over heated floors.

Ultrabond Eco 170 is designed for internal bonding of normal, latex or latex foam backed textile floor coverings and carpets.

The product has a long open time of up to 20 minutes to increase application flexibility, and is ready for light foot traffic after 2-3 hours.

Ultrabond Eco 520 is designed for jute backed linoleum floorings on to all types of internal, absorbent and moisture stable substrates.

It is particularly suitable for areas of heavy traffic and wheelchair use and can be used over heated substrates.

The three products join Ultrabond Eco VS90, Ultrabond Eco Fix and Ultrabond Eco Tack to offer a full range of adhesives for flooring.

2010 also sees the installation of a new plant at Mapei UK, Halesowen, to manufacture the Ultrabond Eco adhesives in the UK to exacting standards.
