New appointment for health, safety and
environment

Lee Mills has been appointed as UK health and safety director for McInerney Group.

Lee Mills has been appointed as UK health and safety director for McInerney Group With more than a decade of experience within the construction industry, Lee will head-up McInerney's health, safety and environment operations across the whole of the UK

Lee, aged 36 and from Warrington, says: "It's really exciting to be joining McInerney at a time when the company's ambitious UK expansion plans gather pace".

"The attraction for me was the culture of the company and the challenge of developing bespoke management systems for a rapidly growing business".

"I'll also be responsible for putting together an expert team to deliver a health, safety and environment strategy across the group".

Based at McInerney's office in Bolton, Lee is currently establishing a health and safety management system to meet the stringent legislative standards required and setting up a strategy to meet McInerney's expanding needs in the UK.

Lee adds: "My aim is to make McInerney UK one of the best performing house builders and contractors in the UK in terms of health, safety and environmental performance".

Lee has a wealth of experience across all construction disciplines and comes to McInerney after more than three years with David McLean.

He started as health and safety director and widened his role to include environment and quality for the group's operations in the UK, Ireland and overseas.

He gained the title of risk management director before leaving to join McInerney.

Previously he held the position of Group SHE (Safety, Health and Environment) audit manager for Alfred McAlpine where he ran a team who audited all of the UK operations.

His career began with Lloyd's Register Quality Assurance (LRQA) as a lead auditor in quality, safety and the environment and was one of the team delivering the first BS8800 products across the UK.
