Mobile Batching Plant Delivers Concrete Results
Where reliable supply and the precise deployment of concrete or screed is required, companies can benefit from a mobile batching plant (MBP) from Mek-Tek Ltd.
Building, construction and civil engineering contractors, together with local authorities, utilities, telecoms and other groundwork companies, that depend upon a reliable supply and the precise deployment of concrete or screed can benefit from a mobile batching plant (MBP) from Mek-Tek Ltd.
Available in 6, 8 and 10 m?x capacities, these plants can provide continuous on site production at rates up to 60 cubic metre per hour, with single loads down to 1/4 cubic metre per hour, versatile enough to even accommodate pre-cast production operations.
The Mek-Tek MBP's are available for short term hire, long term lease or outright purchase.
They have been built to the highest standards and are designed and manufactured in the UK to meet the demands of even large scale contract operations while complying with, and even exceeding, current health and safety working practice directives.
As well as compartmentalised storage for aggregate, sand and cement, 2100 litres of water are carried on board, together with provision for both high and low flow liquid admix systems.
Additional liquid and powder dispensing is also available.
Load mixing is carried out on site, adjacent to the point of use, with individual mixes subject to the inclusion of fibres, powders or liquids where required to achieve the necessary strength, structural properties or even colours required for each load.
The MBP vehicle can also be driven while mixing, enabling continuous back-fill trenching or post holing work to be economically undertaken.
Problems of inefficiency, waste material and loss of profits associated with conventional ready mix deliveries can be eliminated.
These problems include out-of-spec reject loads, under or over supply, too wet (or too dry) mixes together with un-workable mixes due to delivery delays or on-site waiting.
All these can result in environmental issues associated with aggregate recovery or load dumping.
With the MBP, exact mix recipes can be produced, in the exact quantity and delivered where and when required to maximise the profitability of site operations.
Drive options range from the conventional PTO, with the preferred option being a dedicated donkey engine for load mixing and running the hydraulics.
The donkey engine ensures maximum life and minimum strain on the chassis engine.
The MBP is also equipped with a fully guarded rear safety platform which provides the operator with a viewing station during loading of the dry constituents, thus eliminating the possibility of cross contamination and therefore meeting one of the main pre-requisites of compliance with QSRMC.
Safety, as always, is paramount and the MBP is no different.
It is fitted with a key safety interlock system, which fully isolates the main mixing auger, when the unit is being cleaned via a full length trough opening.
Load dispensing, via the remote pendant control, can be carried out from within the vehicle cab or from the rear of the vehicle at up to 4m distance, ensuring safe and accurate material placement.
Although equipped with a single 1m extension chute as standard, further 1m extensions are available on request for those extended material placement requirements.
Mek-Tek provide operator training together with plant calibration and full servicing and repair facilities.
Replacement units can also be made available when clients' own units are off the road.
This service covers the more common of the competitors units already in the market place, coupled with an ex-stock spares backup to complete Mek-Tek's full customer support capability.
