Mek-Tek has introduced a Static Batching Plant based on the proven volumetric batching principles used in its range of MBP vehicles.

Mek-Tek has introduced a Static Batching Plant based on the proven volumetric batching principles used in its range of MBP vehicles The self-contained unit is equipped with a 4.5 litre John Deere donkey engine with built in compressor, enabling it to be easily and conveniently sited in built-up areas or rural locations, and be operational within hours without the need for a 3-phase electrical supply

The range includes 4m3, 6m3 and 10m3 versions, all of which can be equipped with a fibre feeder to produce reinforced concrete and can be trailer mounted, enabling the plant to be moved easily from site to site.

Mek-Tek CEO Bob Prince says the Static Batching Plant offers the same cost and time saving features as MBP trucks, including variable concrete mixes and batch sizes to order - on-site, on-demand and with no waste.

He adds that the units are ideal for commercial and domestic estate developments, site repairs, foundation work and many other construction related projects where a constant supply of concrete is required, but where deliveries by drum mixers would be inconvenient, impractical and certainly expensive.

He also believes the new Static Batching Plant offers an exciting new business opportunity for builders merchants and larger DIY superstores to sell ready-mixed screed and concrete mixes to builders, landscapers and fencing contractors.

To maintain the supply of materials to the batching plant, Mek-Tek also provides an innovative range of Horizontal Silos based on a truly mobile, low-level design that overcomes the planning issues and other constraints normally associated with conventional fixed, tower-type storage.

Electric and hydraulic models are available to provide an economical solution for customers requiring a temporary or permanent bulk storage facility.

Both are designed to meet EPA and HandS legislation.

Like the new Static Batching Plant, the Horizontal Silos can be operational within hours.
