Major regeneration scheme in Warsop
Work to commence on major scheme which will see 263 brand new homes built on former site of run-down terraced properties on the Royal Estate in Church Warsop.
The Royal Estate is one of eight areas being redeveloped through the Meden Valley Making Places project, a joint initiative between English Partnerships, East Midlands Development Agency, Bolsover and Mansfield District Councils, LHA-ASRA Group and South Yorkshire Housing Association Developer Bellway has paid GBP5.9 million for the land on which nearly 300 existing run-down properties are being cleared

These will be replaced by 228 apartments, detached, semi-detached and town houses, of between one and four bedrooms, for sale, and 35 two and three bedroom homes to be offered for rent through a housing association (LHA) as well as low-cost home ownership properties to enable existing local residents to purchase a home on the new development.
The project is scheduled for completion by 2015, although the first new homes will be ready by December 2007.
The sales site is to be called Kings Wood Park, a name chosen through a competition organised for local residents by MVMP.
Gary Kirk, Chief Executive of Meden Valley Making Places, commented: "This is one of the largest developments in which MVMP is involved and will transform a previously run-down and neglected area into a vibrant and attractive place to live".
