Metabo has introduced a versatile new D-Handle Rotary Hammer for a wide range of drilling and chiseling applications.

Metabo Corporation, a leading international manufacturer of professional grade portable electric power tools and abrasives for industrial, construction and welding applications, has introduced a new D-handle rotary hammer for use in a wide variety of drilling and chiseling applications The new KHE-D28 rotary hammer provides consistent speed between load and no-load, making it ideal for through-drilling and anchor setting as well as light chiseling in all masonry materials, including concrete and stone, as well as steel and wood

The new KHE-D28 rotary hammer features vario tacho constamatic (VTC) full-wave electronic speed control that enables the tool to maintain a virtually constant speed between load and no-load for maximum drilling speed.

Additionally, the tool incorporates a rotation stop with 12 selectable positions for efficient and comfortable light chiseling.

A powerful 8.2 A motor provides a force of blows of 0-2.5 joules at 0-4,600 blows per minute, and no-load RPM of 1-1,000.

Drilling capacity of the KHE-D28 is 1-1/8" in concrete, 1-9/16" in wood, and 1/2" in steel.

A quick-change three-jawed keyless chuck system allows rapid installation of accessories for drilling into non-masonry materials.

The KHE-D28 D-handle design improves operator control, especially in overhead or down-drilling applications.

The rotary hammer's 360deg adjustable side handle is rubber coated for greater operator control and comfort.

A large knob for quickly changing from percussion with rotation drilling to rotation only enables the operator to switch modes without removing his protective gloves.

The KHE-D28 features a gooseneck steel depth gauge for drilling depth accuracy when setting anchors, as well as variable speed and a reverse feature for efficient drilling into a variety of materials.

For improved tool life, the new KHE-D28 features a winding protection grid that deflects airborne debris for increased motor life by up to five times in dusty environments, as well as an S-automatic safety clutch that helps protect the operator and tool if a bit should jam.

Heat generated during operation is quickly dissipated by the tool's die cast aluminum gearbox.
