Milbury concrete for Barnsley water wall

A Milbury Systems product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Dec 2, 2008

Concrete engineering company, Milbury Systems has manufactured and installed the concrete for a 4 metre high feature water wall at Mandela Gardens in Barnsley, Yorkshire.

Fifteen vertical cantilever panels and thirty "L" walls were delivered and installed on site this October in a GBP47,000 contract with Schofield Contracting which is handling the Public Realm contract for works at Mandela Gardens, part of Yorkshire Forward's "Remaking Barnsley" initiative.

The water wall is part of Barnsley Metropolitan Civic Council's GBP800,000 scheme which also features work on the public gardens and various landscaping initiatives.

When completed it will provide an attractive illuminated architectural feature in the square with water rippling and cascading over the concrete.

The concrete panels were manufactured at Milbury's concrete production facility in Lydney, Gloucestershire.
