Mighton added benefits with the new Ultrashoe

A Mighton Products product story

New design enables the sash to be pivoted to 90 degrees and then simply lifted from the frame, making Ultrashoe a real time and money saver.

'Fiddly, time consuming and sometimes painful' - how tensioning a spiral balance was described before the launch of Mighton's adjustable pivot shoe, Ultrashoe, last year.

The sash window hardware specialist has now taken the design a step further, incorporating new benefits.

Mike Derham, Managing Director, explains: "Launching Ultrashoe last year was a great success, but Mighton's not one to rest on its laurels".

"With the original Ultrashoe we designed it so that once weighed and replaced in the frame installers don't have to hold the weight of the sash when tensioning".

"Reducing it to a simple three step procedure; open the sash on its pivot, insert your screwdriver and turn until the correct tension is reached".

"After some feedback from customers, complaining about the time it takes to remove a sash window for weighing, maintenance or cleaning, we wanted to see how this could be reduced too".

"The new design, suitable for clockwise and anti-clockwise tensioning balances, enables the sash to be pivoted to 90 degrees and then simply lifted from the frame, making Ultrashoe a real time and money saver.".
