Ecotilt sash windows to transform listed building
Mighton's revolutionary new Ecotilt range of sliding sash windows are being installed as part of the redevelopment of a listed building on London's famous Tooley Street.
Just weeks after the launch of Mighton's revolutionary new Ecotilt range, 38 window systems have been ordered by Forest Hall Joinery to replace the existing windows on this well-known street, home to a number of tourist attractions including the famous London Dungeon.
Combining a timber exterior with a PVC-U structural hidden Jamb, Ecotilt comes in an easy-to-assemble window system aimed at both joiners and PVC-U installers.
It's also the UK's first timber sliding sash window to achieve a 'B' rating for energy efficiency.
Reg Bishop, owner of Forest Hall Joinery, explains why Ecotilt was the right choice for this prestigious job: "Ordinary box sash windows are so difficult to work with".
"You can get them to slide one day but the next day they stick".
"With Ecotilt they work smoothly every time".
"Also, because of the way Ecotilt is made - I just add timber - I can produce timber sash windows much faster than I ever thought possible".
Because the windows tilt (hence the name!) they can be cleaned from the inside.
Both sashes can also be easily lifted out of the frame - making it possible to paint the entire window from the inside thereby overcoming a number of health and safety problems.
According to Mighton's Managing Director Mike Derham, Ecotilt is unlike anything else on the market: "Rising energy bills and the media coverage of climate change mean that consumers want thermally efficient windows".
"They also want windows which are easy to maintain but they are not prepared to compromise the appearance of their home - which means they want timber sashes".
"Ecotilt meets all these demands - with the added bonus of being exceptionally easy to install.".
