Mablethorpe Joinery has manufactured and fitted 50 sliding sash windows and entrance doors for new development of houses in conservation area of Louth, Lincolnshire.

Oglesby and Limb , architects for the development specified traditional styling for the five townhouses to complement the surrounding buildings in the old market town Mablethorpe Joinery and sash hardware company Mighton worked together to provide quality doors and windows to the standard and specification required for this conservation area

Mighton, the sash window hardware specialist, provided several products including spiral spring balances, parting beads and all the brass window furniture.

"Everything for this project was bespoke," explains Chris Haddon, owner of Mablethorpe Joinery.

It's not unusual for the company to be commissioned to produce sash windows - even for new homes - with a growing trend for traditionally-styled windows.

"About 60% of our orders are for sashes," continues Chris.

"The difference these days is that they are made from renewably sourced timber and are double-glazed to meet modern building regulations.".
