Fire Test in Saudi Arabia

Micon Coatings are involved in the supply of 43000sq/m of Micon Thatchbor F.R and Flambor fire retardant thatching grass and timber in Saudi Arabia.

Micon Coatings in association with the African Grass Trading Company are involved in the supply of 43000sq/m of Micon Thatchbor F.R and Flambor fire retardant thatching grass and timber to a game farm development deep in the Arabian desert for a member of the royal family.

Being under new project management, they asked for a demonstration of the fire retardant properties of the specially impregnated thatch and timber using materials already available on site.

The cribs were lit at 12:20pm in windy conditions and after 6 minutes the untreated panel on the left was completely burnt out, the Thatchbor FR/Flambor panel took 1 and a 1/2 hours to burn out!.
