An affordable housing development in Northamptonshire is benefiting from reliable low cost, low carbon heating with the installation of Ecodan air source heat pumps.

The installations on the bpha (Bedfordshire Pilgrims Housing Association) homes use 5kW Ecodan units, installed at first floor height, linked to a 150 litre cylinder to run a low temperature underfloor circuit on the ground floor and traditional convector radiators on the first and second floors.

The houses have already achieved Level 3 of the Code for Sustainable Homes and early signs show that very little energy is being used to keep the properties warm, comfortable and with a constant supply of hot water.
