Mitsubishi explains Ecodan heat pumps on You Tube

A Mitsubishi Electric Living Environmental Systems product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Jun 9, 2010

Mitsubishi Electric has released a short film on You Tube explaining how its air source heat pump Ecodan works, and how it can reduce fuel bills and carbon emissions.

The short, animated film shows how easy the unit is to install, and how it can work with both radiator systems and underfloor heating, as well as supply all of the hot water the home needs.

Ecodan is suitable for retrofit and can also help a well-insulated new house achieve Level 4 of the Code for Sustainable Homes.

John Kellett, general manager of the Heating Systems Division, Mitsubishi, said: "With everyone worrying about rising fuel prices, Ecodan can immediately help cut fuel bills by about a third over traditional gas boilers".

The system harvests free, renewable energy from the outdoor air so that for every 1kW of electricity it consumes, the home receives at least 3kW of heating energy.

Ecodan qualifies as a renewable technology and was recently awarded the European Eco-Label.
