Miwa Launch New Extra Secure ADB Auto Deadbolt
The ADB auto-deadbolt lock removes the need to remember to throw the deadbolt every time a room is entered or vacated, providing an extra layer of protection to ensure users are safer and more secure.
Miwa has introduced a new electronic lock for the hotel and commercial security markets that automatically deploys a 27mm single throw hardened steel deadbolt every time the door is shut without having to turn the usual thumb lever on the inside escutcheon.
The ADB auto-deadbolt lock removes the need to remember to throw the deadbolt every time a room is entered or vacated, providing an extra layer of protection to ensure users are safer and more secure.
Using a patented electro-magnetic actuation mechanism that throws the auto deadbolt 27mm into the door frame ensuring the door and frame cannot be spread, the lock also combines Magstripe and smart card technologies into one lock, offering 'one lock does all' functionality.
The lock will only unlock when the pre-set data in the card lock (i.e room number, time limits, etc) is identical to that contained within the key data in the card being inserted into the lock.
When a user closes the door, the ADB lock extends its 23mm latch bolt and automatically deploys the 27mm-security deadbolt.
A master key card can be inserted into the lock and an in-built privacy switch will indicate if the room is occupied, refusing access if occupied, granting access if the room is empty.
The major advantage of the auto deadbolt is that the room is always secure - both when the room is occupied and when the room is vacant.
Compatible with Miwa's high security U9 key cylinder, the ADB lock also incorporates an anti-panic mechanism, effective for hazardous situations.
This enables the door to be unlocked by a single turn of the handle - simultaneously releasing the double lock.
ADB also features card lock reporting for audit trail purposes logging the latest 600 unlocking card uses and the latest 40 card rejections from use with improper cards.
For added convenience an integrated buzzer within the lock can be activated in addition to the LED status display, to give an audible indication of accepted or rejected card verifications and low battery warning.
The new lock meets ANSI/BHMA standard A156.13 Grade One for operational and security uses and the BS EN 1634-1-2000 standard for fire resistance.
It comes with a 3-year warranty as standard and is available in satin or polished stainless steel and satin or polished brass finishes.
Up to 10 different handle designs ensure the new Miwa ADB auto deadbolt lock will compliment any choice of decor, whatever it is used.
