Millfield FRP has completed works in two retail developments, the Frenchgate Centre in Doncaster and the Vancouver Centre in King's Lynn.
Floor area has been further increased by extending the first and second storeys forwards to the building line.
Millfield's work package comprised new works to the sixth and seventh floors, re-cladding and new glazing to the third, fourth and fifth floors and new works to the extended first and second floors.
A particular requirement of the planning consent for the new storeys was that Millfield's lightweight cladding should accurately match the stone exterior finishes to the original elevations of the landmark building.
Millfield was nominated by architect Del Fawke of ADS Associates, who has worked on the building over a period of 15 years and was looking for a quality GRP contractor with the ability to take on the multi-disciplinary role.
Millfield was able to demonstrate a good track record in this area, at Manchester's Trafford Centre, for example, where similar techniques have been used to create the simulated stone finish.
In addition to the works on the Commercial Properties Group's head office, Millfield has carried out nominated sub contracts on Salford Shopping Centre for subsidiary, Novembre Properties.
