Re-Bar Cutting Made Safe And Easy

A Mans International product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Sep 12, 2003

A new cordless power tool dedicated to cutting through steel re-bars is now available from Mans International.

The Cordless Re-bar cutter achieves unprecedented power from a portable device, and is aimed at construction, emergency, and security applications.

In the past, demolition work relied on angle grinders or oxyacetylene torches to cut through re-bars, which was both time consuming and costly.

The Cordless Re-bar cutter is a much faster, safer, and less labour intensive alternative that weighs only 5.8kg for single operator use.

Operation is simple.

Users position the cutter blades either side of the bar, then pull the trigger to activate the cutting mechanism.

The blades are protected by a metal collar, making the re-bar cutter suitable for removing bolts, locks and even personal safety chains as well.

At the cutting edge is an impressive 11ton force achieved by hydraulics powered only by a 14.4V (2000mAh) rechargeable battery.

This allows up to 60 pieces of 16mm (5/8 inch) bars or 80 pieces of 13 mm (0.5 inch) bars to be cut on a single charge.

To cope with high tensile steel bar cutting, the blades are made of tough, high quality steel (hardened to HRC63-65) and the head can rotate through 180 degrees for difficult to reach places.

The Cordless Re-Bar cutter is manufactured by the ARM SANGYO Co.

Ltd, Japan, and distributed exclusively by Mans International in the UK.

Also in the range, the Cordless Bolt Cutter is a powerful hand tool with a similar specification but with an open jaw cutting mechanism.
