The operator detects any underground obstruction by simply walking the ground with the ARROW receiver and claiming a clear and safe area for digging.
If any cables or metallic pipes are located, the unit sounds a loud frequency modulated audio tone that increases in intensity as the operator approaches closer to the hazard.
The receiver is lightweight and easy to handle, with a tough weatherproof design for extended durability out in the field.
Three modes of operation are available: power, to locate mains power cables (at 50 Hz); RF, to locate low RF frequency currents present on ferroconductors; plus active A line tracing using the ARROW transmitter.
Depth analysis is possible using the 45 degree method.
It can operate as a passive locator, or in combination with the ARROW transmitter for dual passive and active operation.
The transmitter features a compact, rugged housing that weighs only 2.5 kg for easy transport and contains all the necessary accessories.
ARROW protects workers from accidental live cable strikes, and damage to utility and telecommunications services from ground excavation work.
By avoiding costly damages and repairs, construction and maintenance projects are kept on track and within budget.
ARROW is the ideal cable avoidance solution for construction crews, contractors, surveyors, utility workers and telecom engineers to comply with strict health and safety regulations on site.
Mans International will demonstrate this system for the very first time to the plant and construction sector at SED, and to the water industry at Water, Sewerage and Waste events across the UK.
Manufactured by SebaKMT in Germany, ARROW is fully supported in the UK by Mans International, who recognises industry demands for fast equipment turnaround times in order to meet tight deadlines on site.
Discounts are also available for large scale orders.
