More powerful ZX Series 1 to 5 loop panels meet the demands of Disability Discrimination Act - upgraded loop and battery calculator checks design parameters.
Leading provider of fire safety equipment, Morley-IAS by Honeywell (Morley-IAS) has launched its latest ZX Series 1 to 5 loop alarm control panels, combining greater loop and power capability with cost-effective design flexibility for SMEs across a broad range of market sectors Introduced primarily to enable Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) and standards compliance, the new ZX1Se and ZX2Se support the earlier successful launch of the ZX5Se and completes the range of more powerful versions of Morley's established ZX fire alarm control panels

Morley-IAS scores a winner at Fulham Football Club
FAS recommended a Morley-IAS by Honeywell ZX5E control panel plus repeater, with four loops - to meet safety requirements at Fulham Football Club.
"Under the DDA in particular," says Keith Minster, UK and Ireland sales manager, Morley-IAS, "building owners are required to make particular life safety provision for the deaf and hearing-impaired, by providing flashing beacons in addition to existing sounders".
"In response, the enhanced ZX Series provides all the power necessary to meet the demands of the Act".
Improved user display Traditionally, visual alarms have taken the form of Xenon beacons which have caused installation problems due to their high power requirements.

University Upgrades To Morley-IAS Fire Systems
Following the satisfactory completion of tests, Sheffield Hallam chose the ZX range of intelligent control panels as the new platform for its upgraded fire protection systems.
More recently, by contrast, device manufacturers have introduced LED equivalents which demand less power.
Complementing this, the new Morley-IAS panels incorporate an enhanced power supply and loop card, so that the power required for both auditory and visual alarms can be transferred to the loop.
And, with all detection units powered through the same cable throughout the building, this cuts installation costs considerably.
The complete range of ZXSe panels also incorporate a larger, four-line user display, automatically providing more information on individual alarms and faults, without the need for manual intervention.
ZX Enhancements.
As an addition to the existing range, the ZX Series requires minimal training for those users used to ZX control panels.
They are also compatible with the majority of devices from third-party manufacturers, including Apollo, Hochiki, Nittan and System Sensor.
They also incorporate a number of recent enhancements common to the complete ZX range, including:.
* Extended network facilities, to ensure faster response of the visual graphics system.
* Compatibility with a full range of third party manufacturers' devices, supporting new DDA-compliant sounders, beacons and detectors.
At the same time, Morley-IAS has introduced an upgraded version of its loop and battery calculator, providing partners with a more accurate and easier-to-use means of proving design feasibility before installation.
Scalable solution.
"Backwards-compatible and retaining the same family feel and quality as the proven ZX range, the ZXSe control panels' compatibility with device manufacturers' recently introduced products enables end-users to take full advantage of the latest developments in detection and alarm technology," says Minster.
"The result is a range of simple, low-risk and cost-effective modular fire platform suitable for protecting all types of premises.".
