Sure Start aims to achieve quality of life for children, parents and communities through childcare, healthcare and support.
movemanskg was specified to supply and install a Companion Prestige platform lift at the site in Bury, to improve disabled access for employees and visitors.
The lift travels 2 floors through a height of 3 metres.
It is situated in a shallow 50mm pit, and has partly glazed doors at both landings.
Additional features include emergency battery back up in case of power failure, and a DUC switch and telephone.
The DUC (Designated User Control) prevents unauthorised use of the lift.
Once the lift has not been used for a preset time, say sixty seconds, it moves away from the landing it was parked at and stops between floors.
This activates all the automatic door interlocks, making the unit totally secure and preventing any of the doors being opened.
Key locks are situated on all landing stations, which are distributed to authorised users only.
Jon Cousins from CSC Construction , the contractor who specified movemanSKG for the project commented, "the support and technical knowledge of the staff at movemanSKG was very good".
