movemanSKG has supplied East End Foods, a leading UK Indian foods distributor, with custom-built goods lift for its cash and carry branch in Birmingham.

It allows customers to move desired purchases from the building's upper floor to the ground level checkout area.

Established over 35 years ago, East End Foods stocks a wide range of products, including spices, canned food, rice, lentils, beans, peas, and dried fruit.

Its Darwin Street cash and carry also specialises in branded groceries, wines and spirits.

East End Foods' customers include approximately 80% of the UK's independent Asian retailers, as well as major supermarket chains such as Tesco, Asda, and Morrisons.

The company has three branches in the Birmingham area, and offers a fast, dependable delivery service.

East End Foods' customers often shop in bulk and use wheeled cages or platforms to carry items as they move around the store.

When fully laden, these can be very heavy.

This placed special requirements upon movemanSKG.

The custom-built goods lift carries up to 1000kg, and is big enough to accommodate large or awkwardly shaped loads.

It travels 4300mm between the two floors.
